Dry Eye Treatment with Lacrifill™

Long Lasting Relief for Dry Eye at Advanced Eyecare Professionals

Dry eye disease is a common condition that can significantly impact your comfort, vision, and quality of life. If you experience burning, irritation, redness, watery eyes, or blurred vision, you may be suffering from chronic dry eye. At Advanced Eyecare Professionals, we offer comprehensive dry eye evaluations and advanced treatment options: including Lacrifill, an innovative solution designed to provide longer-lasting relief.

What Is Dry Eye Disease?

Dry eye disease occurs when your eyes do not produce enough tears or when tears evaporate too quickly due to poor tear quality. Healthy tears are essential for clear vision, eye comfort, and protecting the surface of the eye.

Common Causes of Dry Eye

  • Aging
  • Excessive screen time and digital eye strain
  • Environmental factors such as wind, smoke, or dry indoor air
  • Contact lens wear
  • Certain medications
  • Hormonal changes
  • Tear duct or eyelid dysfunction

Dry eye symptoms can worsen over time if left untreated, making early diagnosis and personalized treatment essential.

Dry Eye Symptoms

Patients with dry eye may experience:

  • Dryness, burning, or stinging
  • A gritty or sandy feeling in the eyes
  • Redness or irritation
  • Excessive tearing
  • Eye fatigue
  • Blurred or fluctuating vision

If you rely on artificial tears multiple times a day with little relief, it may be time to explore advanced dry eye treatments.

What Is Lacrifill™?

Lacrifill is an advanced dry eye treatment designed to help your natural tears stay on the surface of your eyes longer. It involves placing a soft, gel-like filler that is a natural substance to the body into the tear ducts to slow tear drainage, improving moisture retention and comfort.

The gel-like filler is placed using a cannula (small tube), not a needle. There is no point to the small cannula insertion tube. After numbing the area most patients report little to no discomfort when the gel-like filler is inserted.

Unlike traditional punctal plugs, Lacrifill conforms naturally within the tear duct and gradually dissolves over time, making it a comfortable and great temporary solution for managing dry eye symptoms. Each treatment lasts about 6 months.

Benefits of Lacrifill™ for Dry Eye

Patients who choose Lacrifill often report:

  • Long-lasting relief from dry eye symptoms
  • Reduced need for frequent artificial tears
  • Improved daily comfort
  • A quick, in-office procedure
  • Minimal downtime

Many patients notice improvement shortly after treatment, making Lacrifill a convenient option for those with moderate to severe dry eye.

Is Lacrifill™ Right for You?

Lacrifill may be an ideal dry eye treatment if you:

  • Have chronic or moderate to severe dry eye
  • Are not finding enough relief from eye drops alone
